Gaston is a tall and rangy outside linebacker prospect who may also garner a look at strong safety depending on how his body fills out. Covers the field with good speed, quickness and an intense motor. Disruptive out on the perimeter and excels as a vertical attacker. Quick first-step and rangy frame make it difficult for blockers to seal him off. Has good height with a lean, well-defined frame. Production stems off his ability to run and cover the field sideline-to-sideline. Flashes very good pursuit speed and closing burst to the football. Plays fast and physical and looks for the big hit or collision as a tackler. Can strip and force a turnover. Has a tight waist and sharp change-of-direction skill allowing him to maintain direct angles to the ball without a lot of wasted motion. While he does not stay blocked for long. He has a very narrow base and despite showing good pop on contact. That said, Gaston is a very good athlete with a lot of upside. A bit of a tweener but is scheme versatile and could fit into multiple defense.
