A good frame with room to grow. Casey is only a Sophomore and you can already tell that he will be productive whereever he plays college ball because he has great intangibles. His ability to read and diagnose is good and so is his actual explosiveness in getting to the ball. He can step up and play the inside run by using subtle, swift-shedding techniques, never opening his whole body at the point of attack. He slides and weaves by would-be blockers even before they have a chance to get a piece of him. Casey has short-area burst and closing speed. He also takes proper pursuit angles, constantly heading downhill while chasing and not letting up on speed while dodging blockers. He has the ability to cause havoc on the field. He is a sure tackler and packs a punch of a much larger defender. He can also give you great match-up flexibility. Casey has pure heart and outstanding instincts. When you watch him at lineback, you can see the short-area explosion and he surprises you once in open field. Whereever Casey is put, he will be successful because he plays with heart, intensity and a good motor. Sometimes that is more important than size and with two season left in his high school career Casey will be exciting to watch as he continues to develop in size and ability.
